FORTVILLE, Ind. (WISH) — Fortville police are looking for a man accused of beating a woman and breaking her nose over a missing cellphone.

According to police, Shaun Slinkard rode with a woman to the Colonial Motel, 885 E. Broadway, on Tuesday and after arriving could not find his phone. He became angry, demanded the woman find his phone, then began punching her in the face, choking her and “ramming her face into the steering wheel,” breaking her nose.

The victim got away from Slinkard by biting him. When he got out of the car, she drove away, police said.

According to police, Slinkard is 5-feet-11 and 175 pounds with blue eyes and brown hair, and he frequents the east side of Indianapolis. Police did not provide Slinkard’s age or where he resides.

Anyone with information about the case or Slinkard’s location is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS. Tips that lead to a felony arrest may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
