GREENWOOD, Ind.– A Greenwood man is accused of beating his elderly roommate.
Johnson County Sheriff’s Deputies found a woman walking along Smith Valley Road early Tuesday morning, reports Local News Digital in Columbus.
The woman, who was not identified by investigators, was wearing only a nightgown and flip-flops. She had a black eye and spots of dried blood on her body.
She told deputies that a man named Joseph Hicks lives with her, and that on Monday night, he came home drunk and angry. She said Hicks attacked her and tried to suffocate her and that she only escaped because Hicks passed out.
Hicks, 50, was arrested and faces multiple charges, including domestic battery using a deadly weapon and strangulation.
