On Thursday morning, New York Senator Cory Booker decided all by his big-boy self that it was perfectly acceptable to break the rules of the Senate. His justification? To prove he can “play Donald Trump’s game,” according to CNN.
Well, that seems like a perfectly acceptable reason that leaves no room for criticism (sarcasm font).
“I understand the penalty comes with potential ousting from the Senate,” Booker said in making his case to break the Senate rules. “I openly invite and accept the consequences of my team releasing that email right now.”
Following his statement, Booker publicly released 12 pages of emails sent by Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh dealing with racial inequality. The documents were marked “committee confidential” – meaning that only members of the Senate Judiciary Committee (which includes Booker) could have access to them.
WIBC host Tony Katz tore into Booker for his blatant violation of Senate rules:

“Cory Booker decided all on his own to break the rules of the Senate and release the email. Just a piece of garbage. He decided himself that the email had to be released. You know who else had the same theory? Hillary Clinton who put the private server in the bathroom of her house.”
