Listen Live

The FFA kids are having quite a week at the national convention in downtown Indianapolis. They enjoyed a private concert from Garth Brooks, and Saturday President Donald Trump will deliver the keynote address to wrap up the convention.

Seriously, that’s big time.

With the President’s visit comes various interstate lane restrictions, ramp closures, and street closures downtown. Understandably, the Secret Service isn’t crazy about giving out specifics on how the big guy’s motorcade will get to downtown Indianapolis, but some information has been provided to alleviate traffic troubles. We’ll share what we know, I mean, his visit compounded with 70,000 FFA students downtown could cause bedlam, not to mention inconveniences on the interstate.

INTERSTATE TRAVEL

Drivers can expect lane restrictions and possible ramp closures from Indianapolis International Airport to Bankers Life Fieldhouse for approximately 30 minutes sometime Saturday between 1 – 5pm. Again, we’re not sure of the exact route, but you can expect eastbound I-70 from the airport to be used at some point. Since the closures should only last 30 minutes, hopefully they won’t put you behind too much. Just try and plan ahead.

DOWNTOWN STREET CLOSURES

Streets surrounding Bankers Life Fieldhouse will be closed to vehicular traffic from 10am –  5pm. Delaware Street at South Street will be closed from 6am until after 5pm.

Trump Visit

Again, you have to factor in the amount of foot traffic the convention brings, not to mention congestion caused by other weekend downtown doers. Just chill and enjoy yourself

It’ll be a really, really, really, great weekend. We have the best weekends in Indy – no city has better weekends.
