EVANSVILLE, Ind. — An Evansville man was arrested after being accused of raping a woman he knew.

Evansville police say they arrested Ronald Scott over the weekend at the Esquire Inn.

A woman told police she was asleep in Scott’s room when he began to grope her. She told him to stop, but said he instead pinned her down and raped her, reports the Evansville Courier & Press.

She told police she pretended to shower, and then she left the room to call 911.

The woman said she considered Scott her friend.

Scott told police the sex was consensual.

In 2008 Scott pleaded guilty to three counts of sexual misconduct, and was sentenced to six years in prison, according to the Courier & Press.

No formal charges were filed against Scott as of Tuesday. He’s scheduled to appear in court on Thursday in Vanderburgh.
