Celebrating the Legacy of Head Chef Patrick Calloway

CARMEL, IN – Carmel Gateway, Central Indiana’s largest suburban office park, hosted a special memorial cookout last Thursday to honor the life and lasting legacy of their beloved Operating Partner and Head Chef, Patrick Calloway.
“Calloway’s Cookout” brought together over 100 office park tenants and Calloway’s family members at the on-campus Labor District Cafe, a testament to his impact as a friendly and cherished presence. Calloway passed away in 2023 after a battle with cancer.
He was widely remembered as a loving father, grandfather, and a coworker who appreciated good food, cold beer, and well-prepared meals. His daughter, Graci Calloway, who continues to work at the cafe, shared that her father believed in using food to connect people, spark conversation, and create joy.
This recent cookout built upon a memorial established last fall when Carmel Gateway planted a tree in Calloway’s honor, accompanied by a memorial plaque. The area now features curated landscaping with yellow flowers, a nod to Calloway’s affection for the University of Michigan.
Carmel Gateway’s philosophy is proud to be known as a connected, professional campus where hundreds of employees from various companies find a vibrant community beyond just work.
