CNN media correspondent Brian Stelter is desperately grasping for straws and illogical explanations for why CNN and MSNBC’s ratings have plummeted since the conclusion of the Mueller investigation.

Stelter claimed in his “Reliable Sources” newsletter Wednesday night that viewers aren’t tuning in to CNN and MSNBC because “there hasn’t been much news” since special counsel Robert Mueller delivered his report on Russian collusion to Attorney General Bill Barr.

So why haven’t the ratings at Fox News reflected a similar decline? According to Stelter, Fox News has not been affected because Barr’s letter on the Mueller findings is “being celebrated like a sequel to election night.”

WIBC host Tony Katz has a far more logical reason for CNN and MSNBC’s ratings decline.

Katz:

“Slow news week? Only if you’re not looking, which is the story of CNN. They didn’t look for the truth when it came to collusion, they didn’t take a look at their guests to see if they were even attempting to speak the truth, and now they won’t admit the truth to themselves. They failed, and the audience wants none of it.”
