Fort Wayne double murder

FORT WAYNE, Ind. — Police in Fort Wayne have arrested two people in connection to a shooting from Thursday that left two people dead.

On Friday, the Fort Wayne Police Department Homicide Task Force took 29-year-old Shan Lindell Ford Jr. and 37-year-old Quenecia Gaylor into custody without incident. Ford was preliminarily charged with murder, felony murder, and attempted burglary. Gaylor was preliminarily charged with murder – acting in concert, felony murder – acting in concert, and attempted burglary. Both are being held at the Allen County Jail.

The Allen County Coroner’s Office identified the two people killed as 39-year-old Anisha Denise Jackson and 28-year-old Tornor Dejuan Doby. Police say the two were killed in a shooting Thursday afternoon in the 1000 block of Hamilton Ave. just after 12 p.m. The shooting stemmed from an earlier fight at a local beauty parlor.

According to investigators, a man and woman were seen leaving a home on Hamilton Ave. When the woman got into a car and began driving away, the man started shooting at her. The vehicle then crashed into a home about a block away and the woman died there from gunshot wounds. The male shooter was then fatally shot by an unknown person at the time. Police now believe that man to be Ford, who is a barber at the beauty parlor.

The Fort Wayne Police Department, Allen County Prosecutor’s Office and Coroner’s Office are continuing their investigation.
