Indy Man Sentenced for Dealing Hundreds of Grams of Fentanyl
INDIANAPOLIS — An Indianapolis man has been sentenced to 16 years in federal prison for selling fentanyl.
The United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Indiana said Stacy Griffin, 33, pleaded guilty to the distribution of 40 grams or more of fentanyl. Griffin sold nearly 300 grams of fentanyl from September 2023 to April 2024.
Some batches also contained xylazine, a tranquilizer used by veterinarians to help lower heart rates and blood pressure. Naloxone, or Narcan, does not reverse the effects of xylazine.
Griffin was also selling fentanyl while serving a probation sentence for previous felony convictions, including attempted robbery and domestic battery.
“Griffin’s decision to sell dangerous fentanyl, while serving probation, shows a blatant disregard for both the law and human life,” said John E. Childress, Acting United States Attorney for the Southern District of Indiana. “Fentanyl continues to devastate communities across the Southern District of Indiana, but thanks to the swift action of the DEA and out law enforcement partners, countless lives were saved by getting Griffin off the streets.”
The Drug Enforcement Administration investigated this case.
