This IndyCar Driver Admitted To Peeing In His Car Ahead Of The Indy 500

Conor Daly brought laughter and honesty to the 2025 Indianapolis 500 victory banquet by sharing a rather unexpected story about his time on the grid before the race began.

Thanks to a lengthy weather delay, the Juncos Hollinger Racing driver found himself in an unusual predicament, ultimately admitting:

“I urinated in my car before the race even started.”

The delay had left drivers sitting in their cars for over 45 minutes without a clear start time, creating an uncomfortable situation for Daly.

“I’ve never done that before in my career,” he explained to the amused crowd.

“I was just sitting there thinking, ‘This is the best car I’ve ever had, and I’m about to pee in it.’” He candidly added that the decision weighed on his mind but ultimately, nature prevailed.

Daly mentioned he completed the race, where he led 13 laps and finished eighth, “sitting in my own pee.” Offering thanks to his mechanics for dealing with the aftermath, Daly quipped, “That was a tough one. I felt like we were in a trust tree here.”

He wasn’t the only one who struggled with the delay.

Second-place finisher David Malukas later shared that he almost suffered the same fate.

“All those delays made it worse. I kept thinking about it. Thankfully, I made it to the green flag,” Malukas laughed.

While the story added a lighthearted moment to the post-race celebrations, Daly’s admission highlighted the challenges drivers face during unpredictable delays.

His humor and transparency earned laughs and respect from the motorsports community, providing fans with a memorable off-track anecdote.
