INDIANAPOLIS–Indiana Pacer guard Tyrese Haliburton is inviting a Pacers fan to Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals. That fan, Hans Perez, was in New York wearing a Haliburton jersey when a bunch of New York Knicks fans dumped bags of trash on Perez.

Perez, a firefighter, was walking through New York with his jersey on last Friday May 16 shortly after the Knicks beat the Boston Celtics to advance to the Conference Finals and face the Pacers. The video of Knicks pelting Perez with trash bags has gone viral.

In an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show on Monday, Haliburton surprised Perez as they spoke to each other virtually.

“I want to personally bring you and a plus 1 out here to come to Game 4 in Indiana. I’ll put you guys up and make sure you get seats to the game. Everybody in the Pacers organization wants to meet you and make sure you get taken care of,” said Haliburton to Perez.

Haliburton says many people in the Pacers organization had seen the video from New York and wanted to help Perez out.

“It’s all we’ve been talking about because we’ve all seen the video. I’m excited for this,” said Haliburton.

Perez showed his appreciation.

“Thank you Tyrese man. You are awesome. The team is awesome. Go Pacers,” said Perez.

The Pacers and Knicks begin their Eastern Conference Finals series Wednesday night in New York. Games 1 and 2 are in New York. Games 3 and 4 are in Indianapolis.
