Parking Restrictions this Year at the Indy Motor Speedway

SPEEDWAY, Ind. — The Speedway Police Department says parking is limited for the Indianapolis 500 qualifications and race weekend this year.
Qualifications are set for Saturday, May 17th and Sunday, May 18th. The Indianapolis 500 is set to happen on Sunday, May 25th.
For those weekends, expect no parking on the south and east sides of any street within the 25th Street (north), Georgetown Road (east), Lynhurst Drive (west), and Crawfordsville Road (south) boundaries, from Thursday at 6 p.m. to Sunday at 8 p.m.
Speedway Municipal Code 10.12.190 outlines additional parking restrictions for both weekends during the same hours:
- Speedway Drive (both sides, Lynhurst to Cord)
- Auburn Street (both sides, 10th to Speedway Drive)
- 25th Street (both sides, Lynhurst to Philwood)
- Speedway Drive (south side, Lynhurst to Cunningham)
- Winton Avenue (west side, Crawfordsville to 20th)
- Allison Avenue (west side, 22nd to Winton)
- And more.
Nobody should park between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. from Friday through Sunday during qualifications weekend and from Thursday through Sunday of race weekend in:
- Meadowood Park and adjacent streets: Meadowood Drive (north side), Parkwood Drive (east side), School Drive (both sides bordering the park).
- Leonard Park and adjacent areas: Town property (end of Worth Avenue), Worth Avenue (east side), 15th Street (south side), Town parking lot (1400 block of Lynhurst Drive).
- And more.
Expect three-hour parking limits on both sides of Main Street between 10th and 16th Streets during both Qualifications weekend (this Friday midnight to Sunday midnight) and Race weekend (Friday, May 23rd midnight to Saturday, May 24th midnight).
There will be an event on Friday, May 23rd, so no parking will be available on Main Street, which is between 13th and 16th Streets from 1 p.m. until around 11 p.m. Roads will temporarily shut down, and it will open back up once the event ends.
Rain could affect the Indy 500, requiring parking restrictions to be enforced beyond the scheduled times.
You will pay a $50 fine if you violate these policies.
