INDIANAPOLIS — Nearly 200 sales and warehouse workers will lose their jobs when Nestle USA closes its frozen food distribution center on the south side of Indianapolis.

Nestle USA plans to shut down the facility at 1301 S. Keystone Ave. and lay off all 172 employees by the end of the year, according to paperwork filed Monday with the Indiana Dept. of Workforce Development.

Operations at the facility will wind down beginning Nov. 1. The site is expected to close permanently by Dec. 31, 2019.

The company said in its WARN notice to the state that all affected employees “have been or will be notified of their separation dates and that their separation from employment will be permanent.”
