Officer-Involved Shooting in Vermillion County

DANA, Ind. — State police say there was an officer-involved shooting, which happened early Wednesday after 8:30, in Dana.
Officers arrived at a home at around 6:45 a.m. because of a man walking out of the home and threatening someone with a gun. He then pointed his gun at police, and that led to one officer opening fire.
The man was taken to a hospital in Clinton, but he did not survive.
Officers identified the man as 57-year-old Michael Landers.
The officer, who opened fire, was put on administrative leave, which is standard in these cases.
Police are investigating the shooting.
