CAMPELLSBURG, Ind. — Classes canceled today and tomorrow for students at West Washington High School.

It’s because the high school’s athletic director and head football coach Phillip Bowsman is in the hospital suffering complications from a stroke and is not expected to survive.

West Washington superintendent Keith Nance says he’ll be taken off a ventilator today and is expected to pass peacefully soon after.

Bowsman led the Senators to their best record in 15 years this season at 12-and-2 and a trip to the Single-A semi-state round where they lost to Indianapolis Lutheran this past Friday.
