JACKSON COUNTY, Ala.–A Purdue University student died when he fell around 200 feet in a cave in Alabama Saturday morning.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office says Trevor Col, 21, was killed in a rappelling accident at the Valhalla Cave around 8:30. They believe he fell when he tried to fix the rigging that came loose.

Col was with four other students when it happened, but none of them were hurt.

The sheriff’s office also says it took crews about four hours to get the students out of the cave.
