IMPD Looking into Shooting on Indy’s Southeast Side

INDIANAPOLIS — No officers were hurt in a shooting on the southeast side of Indianapolis Friday afternoon.
The shooting happened about 3 p.m. at Riley Place, which is near the intersection of Emerson Ave. and Prospect St.
When police arrived, they found an unidentified adult shot and killed outside an apartment.
They also gathered info that an armed suspect was in the area. When they searched, they encountered that person and that is when the police shooting happened.
Officers did not provide details on the suspect or how and why that person was shot, as of Friday evening.
Officers had the area shut down for their investigation.
