Trump-Signed Impeachment Report Heads to Auction
A signed cover of the House report on the 2019 impeachment of President Donald Trump is up for auction and could fetch thousands of dollars. Believed to be one of only three copies signed by Trump, the rare document has an opening bid set at $3,000.
Alexander Historical Auctions, which is handling the sale in Lot 1000, estimates the item’s value between $6,000 and $8,000. However, a similar copy previously sold for over $80,000, highlighting its desirability among collectors.
“This is a truly historic and excessively rare piece,” the auction house stated. “With only three known examples, demand is expected to be high.”
The impeachment report is tied to Trump’s first impeachment in 2019. It stemmed from allegations that he pressured Ukraine’s president to investigate political rival Joe Biden. The House of Representatives impeached him in a partisan vote, but the Senate acquitted him.
Trump remains the only U.S. president to be impeached twice.
Given Trump’s lasting impact on American politics and the extreme rarity of the signed document, political memorabilia enthusiasts are expected to bid aggressively.
