WASHINGTON, D.C.--A plea to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), for the impeachment process to stop came from Indiana’s Rep. Jackie Walorski (R). She urged Pelosi to stop the hearings and debate before Wednesday’s expected vote.

“This charade should go no further. We should stop wasting time, focus on what keeps our nation moving forward, helping workers and families thrive, protecting the safety and security of our country,” said Walorski, who represents northern Indiana.

She said for the first time in history a president is on the brink of being impeached by a single political party.

“Let’s be clear about one thing. This impeachment obsession is not about accountability. It’s not about justice. It’s not even about the Constitution. It’s about pure partisan politics at its worst.”

Walorski called it a rigged process and said Americans can see through it, despite a lack of transparency.

A vote was expected Wednesday afternoon.
