INDIANAPOLIS – A woman was killed, and a man is in critical condition after a domestic standoff on the northeast side early Monday.
Police say officers responded to Kingswood Court around 2 a.m. after reports of a woman being held against her will. They learned the man inside the home refused to come out or follow commands.
SWAT and negotiators were called, and after hours of talks, one woman was released unharmed. When officers entered, they found the man and woman with gunshot wounds. The woman was killed, and the man, believed to have shot himself, remains in critical condition.
Police say the incident is isolated, and the investigation is ongoing.
