SOUTH BEND, Ind.—The Notre Dame Fighting Irish were ranked 5th in the latest College Football Playoff rankings that came out Tuesday night. Indiana dropped to 10th.

As far as seeding goes, Indiana is 11th and Notre Dame is 7th.

In the latest projected CFP bracket, the first round would have IU play Penn State (10-1) at Beaver Stadium in University Park, with the winner facing Miami (10-1). Notre Dame would host against SMU in South Bend (10-1), with the victor playing Texas (10-1).

Notre Dame finishes the regular season on Saturday against USC at 3:30.

Indiana faces rival Purdue in the Old Oaken Bucket game Saturday at 7 pm.

The top four ranked conference champions get byes in the first round bracket. The remaining eight teams will play each other at the home of the higher ranked team. Five conference champions earn a spot in the playoff.
