INDIANAPOLIS — 19-year-old, Octavionn Long, shot and killed 22-year-old, Naya Ruffin, while breaking into her Indianapolis home two years ago.

Police say when Long and another man broke into Ruffin’s home, that’s when she tried to escape. She was taken to the hospital, but she did not survive.

Long said he was never at the home, but police say they took DNA samples from blood in the bedroom, on a safe, and under a Ruffin’s boyfriend’s fingernails. Her boyfriend and her child were also at the home while the two men broke in.

Long could face up to 65 years in prison.
