INDIANAPOLIS — An Indianapolis doctor – who first had his medical license suspended in 2023 – has had his license suspended again.

Attorney General Todd Rokita’s office revealed that Dr. Scott Mimms’ license was most recently suspended on October 24th. He has been charged with “114 counts of violating laws regulating his medical practice and controlled substance prescribing.”

Essentially, state leaders believe Mimms illegally prescribed weight loss drugs to some of his patients, had anesthesia administered in his office without proper authorization, and more.

Rokita’s office first got a complaint about Mimms in August of 2022. Over time, the office got another 34 complaints.

The doctor was first suspended after one of his patients died in November of 2022, following a liposuction procedure. That suspension, which was originally expected to last 90 days, happened in early 2023.

Mimms’ license will be suspended for at least two years. See more from Rokita’s office here.
