ATLANTA — Police are investigating the utility superintendent and building commissioner in Hamilton County.
The government of a small Hamilton County town put Andy Emmert on leave.
State police were silent about the reason for their search of municipal buildings and Emmert’s residence, and they kept the 700 people, who live in the city, waiting since Thursday afternoon around 4:00, and no arrests have been announced.
“The Town of Atlanta is aware of the ongoing investigation by the Indiana State Police and is fully cooperating with the investigation. It is the Town’s understanding that it is not the target of the investigation. The Town is awaiting further information from law enforcement as to the result of the investigation. Until the Town has additional information, Utility Superintendent and Building Commissioner Andy Emmert will be on administrative leave,” says Craig C. Siebe, attorney at Law in Noblesville.
