BLOOMINGTON, Ind.—The Indiana Hoosier football team stayed unbeaten with a 42-28 triumph over the Maryland Terrapins on Saturday afternoon at Memorial Stadium.

The win makes Indiana 5-0. This is the first time they football program has started a season 5-0 since 1967. One more victory puts the Hoosiers at bowl eligibility. Their last appearance in a bowl game was 2021.

On Saturday, the Hoosiers overcame four turnovers (two interceptions and two lost fumbles) by having 510 yards of total offense and converting seven of 13 third down opportunities.

After Maryland forced a turnover those four times, Indiana never let them have a first down on the ensuing drive and held them to -9 yards in those situations.

The Hoosier defense sacked Maryland Quarterback Billy Edwards five times. Even though he had two interceptions, Indiana quarterback Kurtis Rourke threw for 359 yards and three touchdowns.

Indiana’s rushing attack got rushing touchdowns from Ty Son Lawton (19 carries for 93 yards), Justice Ellison (12 carries for 51 yards), and Myles Price.

Aiden Fisher had 12 tackles on defense for Indiana to lead the team in that category.
