STATEWIDE – The Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) announced Friday that it has named the 2025 Indiana Teacher of the Year!
Graciela Miranda currently helps Pike High School students learn the English language. She has been teaching for 23 years.
The newly named Teacher of the Year also works with the Boys and Girls Club and, according to the IDOE, “works to uplift her fellow Latinx educators.”
Indiana Secretary of Education Dr. Katie Jenner says Miranda “puts her students first, creating an environment where they feel supported and empowered to take charge of their own learning.”
With this win, the teacher will “work to help elevate the teaching profession in Indiana, as well as represent Hoosier teachers at the national level.”
Earlier this month, Miranda was selected as one of the top three finalists for the award, alongside Chet Dixon and Ellie Minogue.
Dixon teaches at Mooresville High School, and Minogue serves as a fourth- and fifth-grade teacher at Klondike Elementary School in West Lafayette.
