INDIANAPOLIS – The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department confirmed Friday afternoon that Officer Thomas Mangan, who was in the neck on February 27, will be discharged from the hospital today.

Mangan was shot while responding to a call on the southeast side of Indy.

Last week, reports claimed that Mangan received significant damage to his Adams apple and voice box. He was communicating through writing and eating through a feeding tube.

The man who shot him was identified as Mylik Hill and he’s been charged with attempted murder.
