INDIANAPOLIS — Two championship rings belonging to former Indianapolis Colts linebacker Gary Brackett are going to auction.

The Super Bowl XLI ring won by Brackett, along with the AFC Championship ring he won with the team, will go up for bids during the Ripley Auctions Super Sports & Entertainment Sale in Indianapolis on Feb. 5.

Coach Tony Dungy's Super Bowl XLI (41) Ring From His Book Signing Of Quiet Strength.Brackett’s Super Bowl ring is one of about 70 rings made for the players who defeated the Chicago Bears in 2007. Only one player’s ring from that team is known to have been offered to the public since Super Bowl XLI, and Brackett’s ring is the first belonging to an active-roster player to come to market.

“This auction gives buyers an incredible opportunity to own the pinnacle of achievement in professional sports, a genuine, player-issued Super Bowl ring,” said Dan Ripley, owner of Ripley Auctions. “The fact that both rings in our auction were won by one of the most popular Indianapolis Colts players ever, Gary Brackett, makes them even more special.”

There are several hundred other pieces of sports and entertainment memorabilia up for auction on Feb. 5, including trading cards and autographed items.

The auction will be held in-person at Ripley Auctions (2764 E. 55th Place, Indianapolis) as well as through online bidding platforms AuctionZip, Invaluable, Live Auctioneers, and HiBid. Phone and absentee bids will also be accepted.

Former American Basketball Association players will be signing autographs at the auction, with proceeds going to the Dropping Dimes Foundation. The foundation supports former ABA players who did not receive any pension or financial support from the NBA following the NBA-ABA merger in 1976.
