INDIANAPOLIS–A woman was shot and set on fire on the west side of Indianapolis early Friday morning.
IMPD says it happened on Medford Avenue near the intersection of 10th street and Tibbs Avenue around 5. She survived but is also badly hurt after being attacked in an alley.
“We believe she was set on fire with some kind of accelerant. At this point in time, the female has been transported to a local hospital in critical condition,” said IMPD Public Affairs Officer Genae Cook.
Based on its severity, Cook says the crime appears to be personal. Police are searching for a suspect.
