In an update provided shortly before 10:30 a.m., Indy Metro Police said there are only three confirmed people shot in this incident. Two male victims were pronounced dead and a female victim is listed in serious condition.

Detectives say a fourth person, believed to possibly have been grazed by a bullet, had been taken to the hospital before police arrived at the hotel where the shooting happened. Police have identified the person and will follow up with him as part of their investigation.

INDIANAPOLIS — A late-night shooting at a downtown hotel has left two people dead and two people injured.

Indianapolis Metro Police responded to the Fairfield Inn & Suites at 501 West Washington Street just before one Monday morning. That’s right next to the JW Marriott, and across the street from the Indiana State Museum.

Police say two men who were shot died at the hotel. A woman was taken to Eskenazi Hospital, where she was last listed in serious condition. Another man was found shot – he’s also in serious condition.

Police say the shooting took place at the hotel’s entrance. The woman managed to make her way back inside the hotel, where she was found when officers arrived.

IMPD believes the shooting was not random, and are treating it as an isolated incident.
