FILLMORE, Ind.–A fight between two people in Fillmore ended when one man attacked another person with a machete and took off. The Putnam County Sheriff’s Dept. is looking for a man from Colorado, who attacked a person in Indiana and drove away in a car with a Florida license plate.

The sheriff’s department said the attack happened just before 8 o’clock Friday morning. They believe Stephen Taplin, 39, of Colorado, is responsible for the attack.

After the attack he left in a blue or gray Toyota Sienna, and was headed north out of Fillmore, which is 50 miles west of Indianapolis and just east of Greencastle. Deputies believe Taplin may not know where he’s headed because he’s unfamiliar with the area.

They did not discuss a motive for the attack in a Tweet, but did say the person who was attacked was seriously hurt and was rushed to the hospital in Indianapolis.

Taplin was wearing a T-shirt and jeans, and if he’s still got it, was last seen armed with a machete.

Anyone with info is asked to call the Putnam County Sheriff’s Dept. or 911.
