Boxer, actor, and convicted rapist Mike Tyson made his return to boxing Saturday after a 15-year hiatus.
The 54-year-old former heavyweight champion and six-year resident of Indiana’s Plainfield Correctional Facility traded punches with legendary boxer Roy Jones Jr. for eight rounds that ended with the two fighters hugging each other, but forgoing any ear nibbling.
Their fight, held at Staples Center in Los Angeles, was only an exhibition, and it ended in a draw.
“This is better than fighting for championships,” Tyson said following the event, which raised money for various charities. “We’re humanitarians now. We can do something good for the world. We’ve got to do this again.”
Let’s Hear It For ‘Baked’ Boxing: Tyson claims he smoked marijuana prior to Saturday’s bout.
“Absolutely yes… Listen, I can’t stop smoking,” the former felon told reporters after the fight. “I smoked during fights. I just have to smoke, I’m sorry. I’m a smoker. … I smoke every day. I never stopped smoking.”
“It’s just who I am,’’ Tyson added. “It has no effect on me from a negative standpoint. It’s just what I do and how I am and how I’m going to die.
“There’s no explanation. There’s no beginning, there’s no end,” Tyson concluded, drawing attention to drug users’ propensity to say things that sound poetic and insightful, but in reality, are actually quite stupid.
Learn to Grow Marijuana From a Pro Who Also Happens to be Convicted Rapist: Tyson loves marijuana so much that he even opened the Tyson Cultivation School to teach farmers how to grow and develop strains of cannabis.

Tyson Trivia: Mike Tyson was arrested in July 1991 for the rape of 18-year-old Desiree Washington, Miss Black Rhode Island, in an Indianapolis hotel room. Tyson was ultimately convicted and sentenced to 10 years in prison on February 10, 1992.
Former WIBC host Greg Garrison was the attorney who put Tyson away.
Greg Garrison, Moments to Remember: In 2016, Garrison harshly criticized President Donald Trump for suggesting Tyson’s victim, Desiree Washington, was to blame for the incident.
Tyson and Fellow Rapist Bill Cosby: Back in 1989, the daughter of comedian and fellow prolific rapist Bill Cosby accused Mike Tyson of sexual assault. Rather than pursuing charges against Tyson, Cosby and his attorneys asked for Tyson to seek counseling. According to The Washington Post, Erinn was not happy with her father’s response at the time.
Cosby later slammed his daughter in the press, saying in an interview that she is “very selfish.” That interview took place just a month after the alleged sexual assault.
