CNN’s top troublemaker and familiar Trump foe is at it again.

In the midst of a national health crisis that is claiming lives and eviscerating the U.S. economy, White House correspondent Jim Acosta is spending his time launching bush-league political attacks on the President of the United States.

“What do you say to Americans who are upset with you over the way you downplayed this crisis?” Acosta asked during Monday’s White House press briefing from the Rose Garden.

Acosta proceeded to reference previous quotes from the President, targeting a comment from last month in which Trump stated, “It’s going to disappear. One day, it’s like a miracle, it will disappear.”

Acosta asked, “What do you say to Americans who believe that you got this wrong?”

Trump, as usual, took the bait.

“Well, it will go away and I do want them to stay calm, and we are doing a great job,” Trump began. “If you look at those individual statements, they’re all true. Stay calm, it will go away – you know that it is going away, and… we’re going to have a great victory. And, it’s people like you and CNN that say things like that — it’s why people just don’t want to listen to CNN anymore. You could ask a normal question.”

The president continued: “The statements I’ve made are… I want to keep the country calm. I don’t want panic in the country. I can cause panic much better than even you. I would make you look like a minor-league player, but you know what? I don’t want to do that. I want to have our country be calm and strong and fight and win, and it will go away.”

Trump concluded: “And, instead of asking a nasty, snarky question like that, you should ask a real question.”

Point. Game. Match.

Fret not, however. Jim Acosta will be back with a fresh round of non-productive, attention-seeking, juvenile questions at Tuesday’s press briefing.

In other CNN-related news, Chris Cuomo has been diagnosed with Coronavirus and will be broadcasting from his basement until further notice.

No word on whether CNN’s Cuomo had any contact with Mr. Acosta prior to his diagnosis, but perhaps Trump’s favorite liberal sparring partner should be asking THIS question publically:

“How did Chris Cuomo, brother of Governor Andrew Cuomo get tested for COVID-19 so quickly?”

Seriously. We KNOW there is a shortage of test kits – especially in New York. We also know that only severe cases actually get tested and properly diagnosed, so how did Chris Cuomo get pushed to the front of the line?

Option 1: Chris Cuomo used his celebrity status and his brother’s political clout to get pushed to the front of the line.

Option 2: Chris wasn’t officially diagnosed with Coronavirus, he merely presented with symptoms.

All persons who present at an ER with symptoms are listed as “under investigation,” but they are still added to the CDS’s official tally of Coronavirus cases. For all we know, Chris Cuomo merely has the flu.

Get well, Chris. Regardless of political differences, no one deserves to get sick.
