Fox News and Fox Nation firebrand Tomi Lahren returned to the Hammer and Nigel show Thursday, and the timing of her call could not have been more ideal for WIBC listeners.

The news broke this afternoon out of Washington that President Donald Trump intends to sign a bipartisan spending deal, but will also declare a ‘national emergency’ in an effort to procure funds to build a wall along the southern border.

“This is the best Valentines Day present we could ever get,” said Lahren. “Signing this spending deal and then declaring a national emergency to build the wall – that’s a power move and this is why we love this President.”

The announcement from the White House prompted statements of relief from lawmakers who wanted to avoid another government shutdown, but also a threat from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi over the emergency declaration.

Pelosi called it an ‘end-run around the will of the people,’ adding that Republicans should be wary of the door they’re opening.

Lahren expressed minimal concern with how Democrats might one day leverage the precedent set by an emergency declaration to force legislation on gun control or climate change, implying the President’s move was necessary to preserve political balance in the future.

“If we don’t secure that border, that’s not something that’s going to impact us for four years, eight years, ten years; that’s something that’s going to affect us for generations to come,” said Lahren. “And if we don’t secure that border, the democrats will win every single election, because they have a long-term plan to get as many illegals into the country as possible, allow them to vote, and then they will be the victors for generations to come.”
