INDIANAPOLIS–The Indianapolis Animal Care Services shelter is overcrowded and needs your help.
That’s why they are offering pet adoptions for just $5 throughout the month of May. They received 79 new animals on May 9 alone.
They do include spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, and heartworm testing (for dogs).
If you can’t adopt a pet, you can always help through the “Freedom For a Day” program. It’s designed to allow animals who’ve spent more than 30 days in the shelter to get out for a day.
The shelter recently tried this out with one of their dogs named Charlene. She spent a day out on the town with a volunteer.
The next day, she got adopted.
