INDIANAPOLIS – Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears announced Wednesday that Rodregus Morgan has been convicted for his role in the shooting and killing of Tracy Harmon.
IMPD officers were sent to the 3000 block of Osceola Lane to investigate a shooting on October 23, 2023. Both Harmon and Morgan were found inside of a car. Harmon was pronounced dead at the scene and Morgan was passed out in the driver’s seat.
“Alcohol and firearms are a recipe for disaster and that’s exactly what happened here,” said Prosecutor Mears. “Both played a role in this tragedy and now the defendant will spend the rest of his life in prison.”
A witness told police that Morgan and Harmon had been arguing all day. When the two arrived at the address on Osceola Lane, the witness got in the car. As they were planning to leave, the witness told police he got out of the car because he knew there was a gun inside.
The witness said he heard a gunshot as he walked away from the car and that he also saw Morgan pointing the gun at Harmon.
