CICERO, Ind. — A police officer in Cicero has been charged with drunk driving in his police cruiser.
Court documents say Noblesville police were investigating a crash in which Captain Ed Hodson ran his marked police SUV into a rock and a cable box on Christmas Day. His wife, Lora Hodson, is also charged with lying to police for saying that she was the one driving when the crash happened.
Witnesses say they saw Ed Hodson get out of the drivers’ side of the car soon after the crash happened.
Police say Hodson left the scene as well, investigators say he violated two obligations under Indiana Code regarding vehicle accidents: he failed to report the damaged property to the owner and he also left the scene of the crash.
