Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo Altering Name To Become More “Inclusive”
They are going to be dropping from the title the name “Children’s” from Fort Wayne Zoo. So, their argument is simple. When we called it the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo, people thought it was like a petting zoo or something like that. And we’re, we’re not. And so, it was kind of misleading people. So, we dropped the name “Children’s”. Now, if someone told you that you’d be like, well, that’s a smart idea.
None of us would be like, well, you don’t have to drop the children’s just because other people don’t know what it is. Fine, it’s the Fort Wayne Zoo. It’s great. Easy enough… but this is how it was reported through a story over there at WANE. The zoo is dropping “Children’s” from the title starting January 1st, 2025. The change to Fort Wayne Zoo comes in an effort to be a more “inclusive” zoo.
