DAVIESS COUNTY, Ind.–Four men were arrested by Indiana Conservation Officers for multiple hunting violations regarding a poaching incident in Daviess County from this past Saturday.

Around 10 p.m. on Nov. 23, officers were patrolling CR 900 East when they heard a gunshot. They say they located 40-year-old Biak Sang and 40-year-old Muang Hu of Greenwood, along with 34-year-old Ro Hmung Lian and 48-year-old Biak Hu of Indianapolis.

Investigators say they found the men with a deer shot from the roadway using artificial light, a practice known as jacklighting.

The men were charged with jacklighting, illegal possession and taking of a white-tailed deer, shooting from a public roadway, hunting by the aid of a motorized conveyance, and hunting deer after legal hours.

The Indiana Department of Natural Resources says if you see hunters doing these kinds of things, then you need to report it to the DNR.
