INDIANAPOLIS — Weeks after former Center Township Constable Denise Hatch was removed from the role, a new constable has been chosen.

Kenneth Allen announced on social media Saturday that he has been elected to the position. Prior to this, he served on the Indianapolis Public Schools Board of Commissioners.

Allen said he is “thrilled” to work with “The Honorable Judge Brenda Roper and The Honorable Trustee LaDonna Freeman — two remarkable African American women whom I deeply respect and admire.”

He ended his message with, “Here’s to this new chapter and the incredible work ahead. Thank you all for being part of this journey with me!”

In early October, Hatch pled guilty to official misconduct, unlawful carrying of a firearm, and disorderly conduct. Her pleas were connected to two different cases, and she was sentenced to 288 days, time-served in the Marion County Jail.
