EAST LANSING, MI.—The Indiana Hoosier football program has gone 9-0 for the first time in program history.
They overcame a 10-0 deficit to dominate the Michigan State Spartans 47-10 on Saturday at Spartan Stadium. With the win, the Hoosiers reclaimed the Old Brass Spittoon and are also 6-0 in the Big Ten.
The Hoosier offense has now scored 40 points or more seven times this year.
This is only the third season in Indiana history — dating back to the 1800s — in which the Hoosiers have won nine games.
On offense, quarterback Kurtis Rourke returned from a thumb injury to throw four touchdown passes and complete 19 of 29 passes for 263 yards.
Elsewhere, Indiana showed why they are ranked fifth in total defense. They had two interceptions by Amare Ferrell, a safety, 15 tackles for a loss, seven sacks and held the Spartans to minus-24 yards rushing.
It was the seventh time this year the Hoosiers have scored 40 points or more in a game.
Indiana plays 5-4 Michigan in front of a sellout crowd November 9 at Memorial Stadium.
