STATEWIDE–There is an enhanced risk for fires across Indiana on Tuesday.
The National Weather Service in Indianapolis says wind gusts could reach as high as 30 miles per hour at times.
“It really is best if you don’t burn anything outside and be careful with any debris outside that could burn and cause problems with high winds,” said Jason Puma, meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Indianapolis.

Puma says the only thing to really expect with this system is the high wind gusts. No precipitation is expected.
“Over the past few days, we’ve been under a system that’s had calmer winds so this will be a change for us,” said Puma.
On Tuesday morning, the National Weather Service in Indianapolis said since Helene’s remnants fell in late September, Indianapolis has only observed measurable rain on October 15.
Indianapolis has to receive at least one tenth of an inch of rain by the end of the month, this will be the driest October in 154 years.
