WASHINGTON — Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will be in the U.S. this week to present what he calls his “victory plan” in Ukraine’s war against Russia.
The White House confirms that Zelensky will meet with President Biden on Thursday and will meet separately with Vice President Harris. A White House statement says both Biden and Harris “will emphasize their unshakeable commitment to stand with Ukraine.”
Zelensky’s spokesman says the Ukrainian president also wants to meet with GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump, but a meeting hasn’t been confirmed. Trump said last week he will “probably” meet with the Ukranian leader.
Zelensky, who is also scheduled to speak on Wednesday at the 79th General Assembly of the United Nations in New York, posted on social media last week that his victory plan is “90-percent ready.”
