RICHMOND, Ind. — An auto parts maker in Richmond is laying off all of its workers there and closing its facility.
TBK Col, which is based in Japan, makes brakes and water pumps for heavy-duty vehicles like semi-trucks and buses. They told the state on Tuesday that they are shutting down their plant in Richmond.
Company leaders did not say exactly why they are shutting things down in its WARN notice but said all 86 of its workers will be laid off. These layoffs include assemblers, bookkeepers, human resources officers, managers, clerks, engineers, maintenance workers, payroll staff, and others.
TBK is one of the top sellers of brakes and water pumps in Japan.
