INDIANAPOLIS — Three Dutch soldiers were shot in Indianapolis over the weekend.

It was outside a downtown Indy hotel Saturday night. One of the Korps Commandotroepen soldiers has died, but the other two are expected to be okay. The Dutch Defense Ministry says the soldiers were in Indiana for training at the Muscatatuck Urban Training Center in Jennings County.

Indianapolis Metro Police say a fight happened outside the hotel they were staying at in Indianapolis, along South Meridian Street, two blocks south of Monument Circle, between the soldiers and a person or a group of people.

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken expressed condolences to the families of the soldiers and says that his office “is in contact with the Dutch government on this matter.”
