WHITE COUNTY, Ind. – A multi-state homicide investigation conducted by Indiana State Police has led to the arrest of Miguel Ibarguren, 44, of Miami, Florida.

On March 8, 2022, just after noon, crews cleaning I-65 called 9-1-1 after finding a dead body along the side of the road. The body was found about half of a mile south of State Road 18, near the 187.5-mile marker.

The male was pronounced deceased at the scene by the White County Coroner. Indiana State Police Detectives then responded to the scene to investigate.

On March 10, the White County Coroner conducted an autopsy and positively identified the male as Aristide Garcia, 63, of Los Angeles. The Coroner ruled the death to be a homicide.

Detectives learned that Garcia was reported missing by his employer in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, after the semi-truck Garcia was driving was located.

Detectives believed that Ibarguren was Garcia’s co-driver for a national trucking company. Detectives found and arrested him in Arlington Texas on March 15.
