INDIANAPOLIS–New COVID-19 protocols will go into effect at Indianapolis Public Schools starting Monday.

Wearing masks will be optional on school property. They will, however, still be required on school buses to comply with the federal mandate.

IPS will also no longer identify or quarantine close contacts regardless of vaccination status.

Social distancing is no longer required.

IPS says they are following guidance from the Marion County Public Health Department, the Indiana Department of Health, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The administration still recommends that anyone with symptoms should not return to school unless they are fever free for at least 24 hours without the use of medication and symptoms are resolving.
