MUNCIE, Ind. — A Muncie man was arrested Tuesday after police say he stole an ambulance from outside IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.

Timothy Godsey, 50, was arrested after the ambulance became stuck in the mud on Cornbread Road, according to The Star Press newspaper.

After the ambulance became stuck, police said, Godsey forced his way into a nearby home and threw a piece of firewood at the occupant.

Police found Godsey behind the wheel of the ambulance. He refused to get out and had to be pulled from the ambulance by officers, according to The Star Press.

Godsey was taken to the Delaware County Jail on multiple charges, including criminal mischief, leaving the scene of a traffic accident, and reckless driving.
