(INDIANAPOLIS) – Indianapolis resumes direct flights to Toronto on Sunday, for the first time in two years.
Air Canada operated two flights a day to Toronto until the pandemic hit. Indianapolis International Airport spokeswoman Megan Carrico says Canadian travel restrictions prompted the airline to suspend service. She says Air Canada has been gradually ramping its U.S. flights back up as those restrictions loosen. The airline will resume daily service from Indy on Sunday, and go back to two a day next month.
Carrico says since Toronto’s Pearson International Airport is Air Canada’s hub, the nonstop flight creates a gateway for Indianapolis travelers flying to other international destinations.
