CNN anchor, Don Lemon, says that if you grew up in the apple-pie, red-white-and-blue, good ole’ America, you’re a racist.

Would it help if he said it’s just our default?

Lemon was responding to the recent events in Atlanta Friday on ‘New Day.’

The anchor started with a metaphor about flowers. Each year, the flowers may come back different, because the soil doesn’t have enough nutrients.

America’s soil is apparently less than rich; in fact our soil is tainted.

“If you grew up in America, you came out of American soil. Considering the history of this country….how can you not be racist? How can you not have racial blind-spots? How can you not see that the factory reset in America is whiteness?”

Lemon’s intention may have been to try to comfort white people about their fears of speaking out about racism during this time, but that’s not how many ‘flowers’ took it.
